To take payments from customers, connect Stripe, PayPal, or both. This guide shows you where to set them up and what each one needs.
Open your payment settings
On your Dashboard, find the yellow notice Payment Settings Not Configured.
Click Configure Payment Settings.
This opens Getting paid in Settings. You can also get there at any time from Configuration > Settings.
Under Online payments, you'll see No provider connected until you set one up, and a row each for Stripe and PayPal.
Connect Stripe
Connecting Stripe lets you receive payments directly to your bank account and accept credit cards, debit cards and digital wallets.
On the Stripe row, click Configure.
Click Connect with Stripe.
Follow the steps on Stripe's website to set up your account.
When you've finished, Stripe brings you back to Getting paid, where a message tells you whether your account is ready. If Stripe still needs to review your details, this usually takes 1 to 2 business days.
Connect PayPal
You'll need a client ID and a client secret from your PayPal developer account (Apps & Credentials on developer.paypal.com), one pair for sandbox and one for live.
On the PayPal row, click Configure.
Under Mode, choose Sandbox (testing) to try PayPal out, or Live to take real payments.
Enter your Sandbox Client ID, Sandbox Client Secret, Live Client ID and Live Client Secret. All four are needed, whichever mode you choose.
Click Save.
You'll see Payment provider settings saved successfully, and Online payments now says PayPal connected.
In sandbox mode, PayPal shows a test button that real customers can't pay through. When you're ready to take real payments, click Configure on the PayPal row again, choose Live and click Save.
